Larry - Bass

Larry was playing drums in local bands when he was 16.  San Diego in those days had several local dance bands that played at teenage dance clubs around town.  Larry was with the Impulses during their hey day.  That experience made him a seasoned performer.  Larry is a founding member of the San Diego-based rock and country rock group Winslow Ridge.  He is also a founding member of another San Diego band from the 1970's, the Dakota Ramblers with Rob, Joe, and Barbara Robinson.  He switched to bass with 52 West.

Rob - Guitar

Rob has been playing guitar since he was a teenager growing up in La Jolla, California.  His winning smile, good looks, and easy going nature make him a natural performer.  Rob's musical roots grew from 60's and 70's rock and country rock sounds.  He is a founding member of the San Diego-based rock and country rock band Winslow Ridge.  He is also a founding member of another San Diego band from the 1970's, the Dakota Ramblers with Larry, Joe, and Barbara Robinson.

Joe - Guitar

Joe grew up learning clarinet and piano before switching to classical guitar in his teens.  He joined the San Diego-based rock and country rock band Winslow Ridge in the mid 70's as a founding member when they needed a bass player.  He is also a founding member of another San Diego band from the 1970's, the Dakota Ramblers with Larry, Rob, and Barbara Robinson.  His love of blues and blues rock are his major songwriting influences.  He also plays bass and keyboards on occasion.

Warner - Drums

Warner was born in Seattle, Washington, but has lived in San Diego since 1952.  It was during his elementary school days that Warner became fast friends with Larry Dershem.  After high school, Warner ventured to Santa Monica where, in 1968, he found himself a member of  the group The Comfortable Chair, a group that was produced by Lou Adler and two members of the Doors, John Densmore and Robby Krieger.  The group released one album on Ode Records in 1968.  The Comfortable Chair appeared as a group in the 1968 movie How to Commit Marriage, alongside Jackie Gleason, Bob Hope, Tina Louise, Jane Wyman, and Leslie Nielsen, in which they got to perform one of their original songs, A Child's Garden.  He later joined the group Timber, which was on the Elektra Records label.  Timber released two albums -- Part of What You Hear and Bring America Home. For a short while Timber was the opening act at the Troubador for up and coming artists, such as Livingston Taylor, Seals & Croft, Neil Diamond, and others.  Timber toured throughout the U.S. and Canada.  It was during his time in L.A. that Warner crossed paths with many other up and coming musician/songwriters who all ran in the same circles, such as Jackson Browne, Linda Ronstadt (who was at the photo shoot for the album cover of The Comfortable Chair), Karla Bonoff, Lee Michaels (Carnival of Life) Michael Nesbitt (the Monkeys) and Jim Morrison, who in his youth, by coincidence, had been a neighbor of Warner’s in San Diego.  For a few years, Warner played in Las Vegas, with Calamity Jayne and the Cowpunks on a nightly basis. In San Diego he was a member of O.D. Corral with David Bradley at the helm and his band mates Dusty Best, Gary Cooper, Lee Barns, Billy Garner and Dave Sizemore.  In his later years, he played with many other local San Diego Bands, including a short stint with Ike Turner, Rosie Flores & The Screamers, Cindy & The Sinners, Thunderbolt the Wonder Colt and many more.  Most notably, Warner played for many years with Rocket Science, a band formed by good friend Jack Tempchin and joined by band mates Dean Smith, John Scott and John Barnard.  Now playing with 52 West, he has come full circle to play with his childhood friend Larry Dershem and two new pals, Rob and Joe, who are all talented musicians and songwriters.  It's all about the music, after all!
